There are some rules that have to be followed while writing blogs. Whether it is a business blog or a personal blog, you have to abide by certain set of rules. In a business blog, you have to follow more guidelines, as you are representing your business through your blog. There are some general guidelines for writing a business blog;
Objective Should be Clear:
Whether you are writing the blog to drive traffic, or you want to generate leads through the blog or want to gain more social media followers or promoting your partners, an objective must be cleared first and must be religiously followed. Often it is seen that after few blogs people get strayed from the objective.
Content
Content should be crisp and set with a clear objective. It is the content to which the readers should be able to drive to a conclusion and they should be able to relate with their business.
Don’t Change the Facts
If you are writing on a topic, don’t change the data. It is absolute critical that the data should not be manipulated with. If you writing about, say the GDP of Indian, don’t change the data according to your will, it will have much more negative effect on your business.
Know your audience
Readers persona, this is something all bloggers should know about. What kind of readers are visiting to the site.
Choosing a Good Topic
It is the topic which would make the readers interested in the blog. If the topic is weak, there are less chances that the blog will get full reads.
Provide Examples & References
A good blog gives a lot of examples and if required, references.
Provide a good Picture with your Blog
Sometimes, a good picture in your blog can make a lot difference. It should relate to your topic and should not be too provocative nor dull.
Formatting
A good blog contains short sentences, highlighting the main topics, breaking up large texts with headers, pointing major takeaways. A business blog should not contain silly mistakes like spelling errors or grammatical mistakes.
Plagiarism
This is probably the most important point to be followed. It is nice to get ideas from other blogs or articles, but it is a bad practice to copy from others. Plagiarism of about 15% is still acceptable but not more than that.
